Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of the Oqen Market website and interface. By using either, you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

1. What Oqen Market is

Oqen Market is a prediction market implemented as smart contracts on the Sui blockchain. Each race records a starting price for an asset from the Pyth price network and sets two barriers the same distance above and below it. Participants trade UP and DOWN tokens on DeepBook order books. The race settles when the first price at or past a barrier is submitted: each winning token then pays one unit of CASH, and each losing token pays nothing. CASH is credited one for one for the USDC you deposit and is paid out in USDC when you withdraw.

We publish an interface to those contracts. We do not hold your keys, and we do not act as your counterparty: your trades match other participants' orders on DeepBook. The contracts give the protocol administrator a limited set of powers, described in the risk disclosure, and give no one a way to take funds from race vaults or trading accounts.

2. Eligibility

You must be of legal age in your jurisdiction and legally permitted to use a service of this kind. Prediction markets are restricted or prohibited in some places. Determining whether you may lawfully participate is your responsibility, not ours. Do not use the service if it is unlawful for you to do so.

3. Risk

You can lose the entire amount you commit to a position. That is the normal, expected outcome of being wrong, and it is not a malfunction. In addition:

Prices move faster than you can act, and a barrier may be touched against you.
Smart contracts can contain defects. Testing and review reduce that risk but do not remove it.
A race has no time limit. If it cannot be settled fairly, for example because the price feed stops, it may be voided, and every token of that race then pays half a unit.
Settlement depends on a price being published on chain. Network congestion or oracle failure can delay it.
Blockchain transactions are final. There is no chargeback and no support line that can reverse one.

4. Not financial advice

Nothing on this site is investment, financial, legal, or tax advice, and nothing on it is a recommendation to take any position. Figures shown in the interface, including any calculator or chart, are illustrations of how the contract computes outcomes. They are not predictions, guarantees, or offers. The demo race on the home page uses play money on a simulated price, and its results say nothing about real races.

5. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for the security of your wallet and your keys. We cannot recover them.
Your trading account is tied to the wallet that opened it and cannot be transferred. Losing access to the wallet means losing access to the account.
You are responsible for any taxes arising from your activity.
You agree not to use the service to launder money, to evade sanctions, or for any unlawful purpose.
You agree not to attack, manipulate, or attempt to disrupt the protocol, the interface, or other participants.

6. The interface is optional

The contracts are permissionless and can be used without this website. We may change, limit, or discontinue this interface at any time, including restricting access from particular jurisdictions. Doing so does not affect the contracts themselves or any position already recorded on chain.

7. No warranty

The site and the interface are provided as they are, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted or error-free operation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, funds, or data, arising from your use of the site, the interface, or the contracts.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
